PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

December 13, 2016

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) recently conducted a public opinion poll of long-term care in Kentucky. Those results have been released to KAHCF and are available on the Association's website as password-protected documents. You may access the documents here.

The stated goal for the polling initiative was to gauge public sentiment and support for proposals that our state Association may be either fighting or pushing before the Kentucky General Assembly. AHCA wanted to arm our Association with empirical data that will support our agenda. As always, we are very appreciative of the support that AHCA provides to its state affiliates.

The state poll accomplished the following:

  1. Gauged public awareness and favorability on programs impacting the profession - primarily Medicaid;
  2. Determined favorability and support for increased funding for state Medicaid with respect to long-term care services; and
  3. Determined favorability and support for increased funding for state Medicaid with respect to long-term care services.

The Association strongly urges you to review the polling data. Your Association will be using this information in supporting its grassroots efforts leading up to and during the 2017 legislative session.
