Description
This basic two-day program explains step-by-step the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process. It includes instruction on basic background and history of the MDS, terminology, use of the RAI Manual, role of the MDS Coordinator, detail encoding of each section of the MDS along with timing/scheduling, overview of the MDS transmission and corrections, basics of RAP development using the required criteria, and basic care plan development. The course WILL NOT include information on reimbursement as it relates to the MDS including case mix or documentation guidelines, detailed QI information, or detailed survey information as it relates to the MDS.

Target Audience
Those new to the MDS process with 3-6 months or less experience or with no formal MDS training – administrative staff, MDS coordinator and “back up” licensed staff, nursing staff, all members of the interdisciplinary MDS/Care Plan team including activity directors.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing and may be faxed or mailed to KAHCF. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than August 11th will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between August 12th & August 18th will receive a refund of 1/2. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.
