Description
This seminar will provide participants with an overview of important areas affecting dietary departments in long term care. This full-day program will focus on Center for Medicaid & Medicare Services’ memorandum dated May 29, 2009, that clarifies the intent of Tag F 371 “Procure food from approved sources” related to foods accepted by residents from visitors, family, friends, or other guests; and Residents’ right to choose to accept those foods under F 242 (self determination and participation). Other topics that will be covered are: culture change and the survey process, the role of nutrition in prevention and management of pressure ulcers, and the tools and resources for Pro-active Survey Readiness. Brenda E. Richardson, MA, RD, LD, CD, will serve as the presenter.

KAHCF Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing and may be faxed or mailed to KAHCF. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than September 21st will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between September 22nd and September 28th will receive a refund of ½. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.
