Basic Training for Activity Professionals

This 36-hour state approved course satisfies the requirements to “qualify” as an Activity Professional in a long term care facility. The course will be taught by a variety of experts that include Activity Directors currently working in Kentucky long term care facilities whose combined experience exceeds 50 years. Additionally, the agenda will include a full day of training by a member of NAAP (National Association of Activity Professionals).
This 5-day program offers an in-depth study of resident and activity programming for their special needs. It will include a review of CMS’s new survey guidelines for F248 (Activities) and F249 (Activity Director Qualifications) and CMS’s new Investigative Protocol and a Psychosocial Outcomes Severity Grid that surveyors will utilize during the survey process. This program is designed to prepare the participants to function ethically and effectively in the prevailing health care climate. A “Certificate of Completion” will be awarded to participants who complete the course. Topics Covered

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing and may be faxed or mailed to KAHCF. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted.
Cancellations received no later than September 12th will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between September 13th and September 19th will receive a refund of 1/2. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.
