CAA’s and Care Planning are essential to quality outcomes, interdisciplinary teamwork and resident centered care. How comfortable do you feel completing the Care Area Assessments for MDS 3.0? This session will explore the items within the MDS 3.0 that will trigger the CAA’s, and detail how the process is designed to work according to the MDS manual. The class is designed to give you an opportunity to write and critique CAA’s. Come experience both lecture and lab time so that you can be confident in your facility’s process.
 
Course Objectives:
* Identify and review the 20 CAA’s
* Describe the development of a CAA summary according to MDS Guidelines
* Explain the process of critical thinking during CAA analysis
* Develop effective care plans per CMS protocols
* Understand how to conduct an internal compliance audit of the IDT care
   plan process

As a twenty-five year long term care professional, Judi has focused much of her  work in supporting facilities in managing the RAI process, MDS coding, and nursing system quality improvement. Judi serves as a Fireside Education Center Faculty and has been a Master Teacher in the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators credentialing program since 2004.  She has served as an operations manager, case mix and quality assurance consultant and a crisis control administrator for a variety of organizations, including facilities in multiple states.   She has both nursing and administration experience in large corporate, small multi-facility and single proprietary operations.  Her background is in successful cost containment, revenue enhancement, customer satisfaction, quality improvement, care planning, health information system development and implementation, and a comprehensive knowledge of state and federal regulations.

KAHCF Cancellation Policy:
* Cancellations must be made in writing and may be faxed or mailed to KAHCF.
* Cancellations by phone will not be accepted.
* Cancellations received no later than February 21st will receive a full refund.
* Cancellations received between February 22nd and February 28th will
   receive a refund of 1/2.
* Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will
   not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCFoffice.
