Section GG: What Now and What Next?

Seminar Description

This 1-hour webinar will focus on the current coding requirements for MDS 3.0 Section GG as well as the new coding requirements that will take effect October 1, 2018. Participants will gain insight into how these changes correlate with new Quality Measures and how Section GG will be used in the newly proposed Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) slated for implementation October, 2019.

Target Audience
: MDS Nurses, Directors of Nursing, Therapists who participate in GG coding


At the conclusion of this course, the learner will:

1.      Understand the current RAI instructions and guidelines applicable to coding Section GG

2.      Understand the upcoming revisions and additions to Section GG and how to cultivate an interdisciplinary approach to increase accuracy of coding.

3.      Become familiar with how these changes are linked to Quality Measures and proposed payment model changes.

Eleisha Wilkes
is a Registered Nurse and AANAC certified MDS consultant with over fifteen years of experience in long term care. She has served as a Director of Nursing, Case Manager and Resident Assessment Coordinator with extensive responsibility and success in driving QA in the areas of person centered assessment and care planning through effective systems, staff development, and interdisciplinary team collaboration. Eleisha currently serves as a Clinical Consultant for Proactive Medical Review and Consulting

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to or faxed to (502-425-3431). Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than May 29 will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between May 30 - June 5 will receive a refund of 1/2. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full webinar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.

Each Person Seeking a Certificate of Completion for contact hours must:

  • Register and pay the fee. If more than one person in an organization needs to obtain CEUs, each person seeking credit must register separately and pay the $55 fee.
  • Provide their license number(s) and state(s) of issue on the registration form.
  • Access the webinar from an individual computer using the login/password provided in their registration confirmation. KAHCFcannot issue CEUs to multiple people using the same computer/laptop.
  • Participate in the webinar for the duration of the content presentation and Q&A period.
    KAHCF cannot credit individuals who log in late, log off early, remain logged in after the webinar has ended, or only listen to the audio portion.
A Certificate of Completion will be updated on the KAHCF website within four weeks of the live event
