Seminar Description

This session will focus on the Treatment/Services to Prevent/Heal Pressure Ulcers Regulations including, but not limited to, F-Tag 686, with a review of the regulations and an analysis of the associated Interpretive Guidance. A review of survey procedures used to guide the investigative process will be discussed. Actual citation examples will be shared and discussed. Tools to assist the facility interdisciplinary team in monitoring compliance and incorporating into the facility QAPI processes will be discussed.

Target Audience:   Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Managers, Nursing Home Administrators, Nursing staff and leaders, Quality Assurance Director



Objectives

At the conclusion of each session, the learner will:

  1. Identify the regulatory requirements related to Treatment/Services to Prevent/Heal Pressure Ulcers
  2. Identify survey procedures that describe how Treatment/Services to Prevent/Heal Pressure Ulcers requirements are reviewed for compliance during the annual survey process
  3. Identify examples of how F-Tags related to Treatment/Services to Prevent/Heal Pressure Ulcers are commonly cited in the new LTCSP
  4. Identify tools for the leadership team to use for monitoring compliance with Treatment/Services to Prevent/Heal Pressure Ulcers requirements
  5. Explain strategies for incorporating survey preparedness related to Treatment/Services to Prevent/Heal Pressure Ulcers into facility QAPI processes

Shelly Maffia, MSN, MBA, RN, LNHA, QCP, Director of Regulatory Services

Shelly Maffia is a Registered Nurse and Nursing Home Administrator with over 15 years of experience serving in long term care leadership and consulting positions, including positions as Director of Nursing, Administrator, and Corporate Nurse Consultant and Training Positions. She earned the QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) credential from the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination (AANAC), which was established to promote the highest standards for QAPI program implementation in the long-term care profession.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to kahcfinfo@kahcf.org or faxed to (502-425-3431). Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than November 20 will receive a full refund. Cancellations received between November 21-27 will receive a refund of 1/2. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full webinar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the KAHCF office.

  • Register and pay the fee. If more than one person in an organization needs to obtain CEUs, each person seeking credit must register separately and pay the $55 fee.
  • Provide their license number(s) and state(s) of issue on the registration form.
  • Access the webinar from an individual computer using the login/password provided in their registration confirmation. KAHCFcannot issue CEUs to multiple people using the same computer/laptop.
  • Participate in the webinar for the duration of the content presentation and Q&A period.
    KAHCF cannot credit individuals who log in late, log off early, remain logged in after the webinar has ended, or only listen to the audio portion.
